Bartell 12-string with DeArmond pickups

I found this pic in the July 1994 Guitar Player magazine in the column “Pawnshop Prizes”.  In an article called “Hot Rod Cheese Logs” they pictured a Bartell semi-hollowbody similar to the #222-08 Bartell hollowbody except it has 12 strings and what appears to be DeArmond pickups.  The guitar is pictured below.  Notice the tailpiece sits on a plastic plate similar to that found on the 6-string fretless bass. Possibly this was originally a body for a 6-string guitar with a vibrato. The plate was probably added to cover the routing
